For several weeks now, I have been following Inspired to Action . GOOD STUFF. It has really helped me to focus again. To have a plan for my day and my week so that I am not "busy" all day and get nothing actually done. To remember that there is very little that makes me crabbier than waking up to a small boy in my face telling me that he is hungry. I highly recommend her e-book about Maximizing Your Mornings. Even if you are not a morning person and your life best adapts to a different schedule, the parts about developing a plan are very useful.
But this week. THIS WEEK. After a fabulous conference last week (that I will tell more about later) where my heart was absolutely broken, I am having a hard time justifying the routine of life and not hopping on a plane to go try to actively do something. God reminded me this morning that I have two beautiful boys at home, both adopted who need me to take care of the first. And one of Ivan's needs right now, as he continues to heal and build his brain development, is regular good food. Every 2 hours while he is awake, to maintain his blood sugar levels and help him manage his emotions. He can't eat artificial colors or flavors and I think he reacts to some preservatives, too. So grocery shopping for snacks is out ... and cooking is in!
I am very thankful that late last week, I came across a new Healthy Snacks To Go eBook. Can I say that God provides what we need even before we need it? I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, but have spent the last few days reading over the recipes and I am ready to try. There are several that have great potential for the boys to eat. Woo-hoo!
